Welcome to the
Greater Manchester
Learning Trust

Our philosophy is that every child in our schools, whatever their background or starting point, should achieve their personal goals and be well prepared for the next stage of their lives.  The Greater Manchester Learning Trust operates in an area with a highly diverse academic, social and ethnic profile, achieving consistent success with all cohorts. This fully comprehensive profile, reflecting our region and our society, is our focus.

We strive for excellence in all things for every child and adult who studies or works with us. The achievement of our young people is not solely a result of our emphasis on academic outcomes. Children in our schools will receive the best possible care and support, both academically and personally and experience a range of opportunities which allow them to express their talent, challenge themselves and enrich their lives.

How we make a difference

Greater Manchester Learning Trust

A proposal for the future of our school community

As you know Parrs Wood High School is part of The Greater Manchester Learning Trust.

As a Trust, we are committed to continually enhancing the education that we offer our students and the support that we are able to provide to our community. This is particularly relevant at the moment, as schools across the country are looking at formalising working partnerships that have developed during the pandemic.

That is why the Trust Board would now like to further develop our strength and capacity by joining with The Education and Leadership Trust (ELT). ELT is based in south Manchester and shares the same values and ethos as we do: to achieve the best for every child regardless of ability or background and embracing the diversity and context of our city.
